2 More Days

We hiked for 2 days in August with C from M’s work. We covered the route from Kilbride to St. Helena Road where we’ll start next time. About 33km I believe.

We’re now getting to the point where driving from Oakville for a single day hike is a definite chore. It took us over an hour last time to get from Oakville to Milton and drop off both cars (at the start and finish).

As a note to future hikers, we found a great spot to camp where the trail turns East from Appleby Line and enters Kelso. There were even fruit trees for a late-night snack!

Most likely we’ll continue next year, as we missed the Thanksgiving Weekend opportunity and now it’s getting cold quickly.

Amazing! I've been looking for something like this for a long time!

We're currently stopped at the school parking lot in Kilbride. Looking to add some km this year, but with 8 weddings it's going to be a busy summer.

Kilbride

No, it's not some post-wedding change-of-heart, it's the town we've reached on the trail! (located here) We reached Kilbride on October 21, 2007.

We've had some companionship this year. We've been joined on two single-day hikes by Mel's friend Neha, and on a two-day hike by Mel's coworker Andre and his fiance Stephanie. Both my parents and Mel's parents came along on single-day hikes.

This past weekend we went through Mount Nemo which we've been to several times before. The weather has been simply amazing for this time of year and the park was busy. We also found a giant puffball mushroom and were examining it when a family passed by. We ended up telling them all about these mushrooms. This was probably our last hike of the year as the weather is getting colder now.
